松永久秀画像。1577年の「信貴山城の戦い」で織田軍に包囲され、いよいよ自害に追い込まれた瞬間を描いたもの。織田信長は命を助けるかわりに久秀が所有していた茶釜の平蜘蛛を手渡すよう命じたが久秀は拒否して自ら割って自害した。 at the battle of mt. Shigi-san 1577, matsunaga hisahide was surrounded by oda nobunaga's army. Nobunaga told hisahide to give up his famous tea kettle called 'kotenmyo hiragumo' so that he would spare his life, but hisahide refused and broke the hiragumo into pieces in his castle before killing himself. Hisahide and nobunaga were tea masters and nobunaga had wanted to possess the kettle hiragumo(flat-shaped spider) long time. Because of the unique shape similar to a crawling spider, the tea kettle, chagama, became famous among tea masters. Date: 19th century. Hisamiti
