Herman Niclas Grim, circa 1695

Herman niclas grim (1641-1711). Elderly man, chest image, phase t. H. , sticking left hand inside coat. Brown eyes, gray eyebrows, short-cut small shaved moustaches. Gray allonge wig with large curls parted in the middle, white wrapped scarf in a knot with drooping ends, lace cuffs. Yellow patterned coat, black patterned blue lined talker. Dark gray background, up t. V. Stands: hermannus nicolai grim with. Did. Natus wisby 1641, denatus 1711. Oil on canvas, 74y2x59 ctm. , from the 1690s. The medical board. Eich. No. 28. — pi. Xvii. — it is chr. Eichhorn, who ascribed to martin mijtens the portrait. I am not completely convinced the accuracy of this, but i also do not consider myself to have strong enough reasons to deny it. Date: circa 1695.
