Ivan Enchev-Vidyu Bulgarian Folk Crosses 305, 20 August 1917

305. A. Tombstone with crosses in the cemeteries of tutrakan. Two crosses are carved from one slab - male and female. The male has a trapezoidal upper wing and the female has a circular upper wing, their small lateral wings are quartered and decorated with an isosceles cross each; their inner small wings are glued together, marked only by the engraved line that runs parallel to the outer contours of the crosses. The upper wings are decorated with friezes of zigzag ornaments. Dimensions: 68x53x12 cm. It is carved quite carefully, with a regular pattern, from a soft white calcareous, fine-grained stone. It is overgrown with moss. On its back - a semi-legible inscription with the date 1868. B. , c. The ornament and the cross in detail. Sketched on 20. Viii. 1917. (vol. 8, obr. 6a, 6b. ).
