The evil lady-in-waiting iwafuji plots to kill the shogun in the play "kagamiyama kokyo no nishikie" ("the women's chushingura"). This chapter of "the tale of genji" also concerns ladies-in-waiting and divided loyalties at the court. Date: 1845 (late Edo). Place of creation: Edo (present-day Tokyo, Japan).
