I. K. Makarov. "portrait of prince alexander vasilyevich (?) kochubey". 1860s. Oil on canvas. Mordovian republican museum of fine arts named after s. D. Erzya, saransk. The portrait was identified by a. M. Gorshman as an image of prince a. V. Kochubey (1788-1866) and dated to the 1860s. However, alexander vasilyevich did not have a princely title, and his reliable portraits, including a close-in-date image by n. I. Murashko, refute this iconographic definition. A. V. Had the order of st. Alexander nevsky, which is missing from the portrait. This portrait depicts an unknown senator in a ceremonial uniform with embroidery, a holder of the order of st. Anna, 1st degree (star and ribbon), the persian order of the lion and the sun (star), and on the vladimir ribbon - possibly a medal or badge of the order of st. Vladimir, 4th degree. Object Type: painting. Date: 1860s.
