Handing over the keys of Seville to San Fernando, Juan de Espinal, circa 1750
The work represents sheikh axataf giving the keys of the city of seville to king ferdinand iii the saint in 1252 in front of one of the city gates, being a work executed around 1750 and whose author took the license to depict the cathedral as the christians built it. The painting also shows the virgin of the kings in heaven at the time of delivery, and the work comes from the old puerta de san fernando in the city of seville, which was located at the end of said street and which was demolished in 1868.
