Entrance of Henry IV in Paris 22 March 1594, Léonard Gaultier, 1733

Entry of king henry iv into paris on march 22, 1594 through the porte neuve near the louvre, at the foot of the fr: tour du bois. Dressed in a breastplate and wearing a hat with plumes, the king and his soldiers drive out the spaniards who were occupying the city. Engraving (burin and etching) extracted from volume v of monuments of the french monarchy by bernard de montfaucon (1733). Date: 1733.
