History of Little Thumb, between 1833 and 1880

Cent print with 2 x 4 framed woodcuts, with detailed images. A couple has a very small son, he is pinched, falls into a pudding, and is almost swallowed by a giant. He arrives at the court of king arthur and he gives him money for his parents. The cook puts him in a mousetrap and a spider kills him. The english origin is evident from the inscription 'pickles' in an image. Contains two- and three-line captions in dutch and french. Object Type: Catchpenny print. Date: between 1833 and 1880.
