Seichu gishi den, Utagawa Kuniyoshi

Seichu gishi den, Utagawa Kuniyoshi

Tragically, kampei comes to believe that the man he has killed when trying to shoot the wild boar is his own father-in-law. In a fit of remorse, he kills himself. He is never able to join the other warriors. Nevertheless, kampei's spirit does join in the vendetta, and this is the reason why kuniyoshi depicts him as a ghost.
