Illustration by poul steffensen from the danish novel dronningens vagtmester by carit etlar which takes place during the dano-swedish war in 1658-1660. Ib abelsøn has been captured by the swedish soldiers at the gjorslev castle and has been forced up to the roof of the tower by the german captain esner in swedish service. Ib abelsøn however has secured himself against falling down with his belt. The chicken boy palle thinks about how he can get ib abelsøn somethings to eat. At last he figures out that the raven plus of ib abelsøn of which he takes care can fly up to him with the food.
