The noblewoman elsebeth buchwald, her daughter karen kaas and the nephew holger rud wants to flee from the swedish forces at the gjorslev castle. They writes a letter to svend poulsen, gøngehøvdingen, and ib abelsøn to get their help. The chicken boy palle shall sneak out with the letter which they wants to hide in his coat.
