Svend poulsen, gøngehøvdingen, has helped elsebeth buchwald, her daughter karen kaas and the nephew holger rud in fleeing to copenhagen. Here elsebeth buchwald hosts a party where she tells that karen kaas has been betrothed with holger rud. But karen kaas hasn't been informed and declares that she loves another. Svend poulsen steps forward and tells that it is he. Elsebeth buchwald then draws karens kaas away. Svend poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679) was a real person but the story is fiction.
