The helmet and helm shown in the drawings: no. 22 (fig. 1) and no. 24 (fig. 4), in the inventory of the armoury chamber are noted among the helms - no. 9 and 10, but according to the shape of the top, arranged for the insertion of a fir-tree, or feather, these are actually helmets, as they are called in the inventory book of the tsar's armoury treasury of 1687. The one chased with eight facets, with semicircles and wedges above the crown, was recorded first. It was gilded and armed with earflaps and a back of the head, as mentioned, made of german iron. In previous books it was considered the fifth; and the one shown in drawing no. 24 - the fourth: "a helmet of chased faceted; along the crown, completely half a circle, above the circles, on the edges, along the wedge; through the circle and through the wedge, and through the edge, gilded; vetchan; earflaps and the back of the head are of german iron, covered with green velvet; the ties are of worm-like lace. And according to the current census of the year (1687) and upon inspection, that helmet agrees with the previous census books; there are no ties; the price is sixty rubles, and in the previous inventory book it is written fifth. " "the helmet is vetchan, gilded according to the stamping; seven silver burdock nails; earflaps and the back of the head are of german iron, covered with worm-like velvet; the ties are of worm-like lace. And according to the current census of the year and upon inspection, that helmet agrees with the previous census books; the price is thirty rubles, and in the previous inventory book it is written as the fourth one. " the spoon-shaped plate cap shown in figure no. 22 under the chased helmet is actually a plate helmet, which corresponds to the 1687 inventory no. 4: "a scalloped helmet, slit earflaps, a wooden back, iron, copper nails.
