Antiquities of the russian country, 1846-1853. Volume 4. Illustrator — ru: solntsev, fyodor grigorievich. Boyar clothing of the 17th century. Copy of the portrait of afanasy kirillovich naryshkin the face depicted in the portrait was first called peter i in the drawing, due to a certain generic resemblance to his facial features. In the drawing attached here, it is designated by the name of afanasy kirillovich naryshkin, brother of tsarina natalia kirillovna, the same one who in 1680 was cut into pieces by rebellious streltsy before the eyes of his sister. This portrait, painted on canvas, was formerly in the village of petrovskoye-razumovsky near moscow, and now in the village of porechye in the mozhaisk district, count s. S. Uvarov. According to family tradition, communicated to us by count uvarov, this portrait has always been revered as an image of a close boyar, lev kirillovich naryshkin, the founder of the naryshkin and razumovsky family. Lev kirillovich was born in 1668 and died in 1705. He entered into his first marriage with princess urusova, and his second with anna petrovna saltykova. He had two sons: alexander and ivan; from the first there is a direct descendant of the naryshkins; the second had one daughter, katerina, who married field marshal count kirill grigorievich razumovsky; from her comes the line of counts razumovsky. This portrait was probably painted by a foreign artist and is remarkable for its costume. Over the lower caftan, belted with a persian sash, is worn a long greek or georgian fur coat with two clasps, or fasteners, made of precious stones. On the feet are red morocco ichetogs, or ichegi, i. E. Tatar boots, with gold embroidery; over them are green shoes. In one hand naryshkin holds a cane with a walking cap. Date: between 1846 and 1853.
