Horse knee pads among the horse ornaments, knee pads were used, made of silver and gold plaques decorated with precious stones, connected with each other by loops and embracing the horse's legs below the knees. In figure no. 141, the upper knee pad (in the inventory of the armoury chamber under no. 5) is made of links fastened in three rows and sewn on crimson velvet. The lower one is silver carved with gilding. The lower knee pad, depicted in figure no. 142, is listed under no. 4 in the inventory of the armoury chamber: "a pair of silver white knee pads with burrs; on them are gilded copper feathers with silver burrs, in which, in nests, are turquoises and painted crystals. Weight - 1 pound 48 gold pieces. ". Date: before 1853.
