Mongolian shishak, prilbitsa and misyurka iron mongolian helmets, called kalmyk in old inventories, are completely similar in shape to chinese ones, belonging to the kuyash armor of the chinese cavalry. All mongolian helmets that were in the armory treasury and some of those that have survived to this day were sent as tribute to the tsars from the mongolian, tungus and other rulers, together with kuyaks, or mongolian armor. The helmet in figure no. 26, listed among the shishaks under no. 45 in the inventory of the armory chamber, was sent to tsar mikhail fedorovich as tribute from laba (loba) of the tunguz land of danimen gerlanzu in 1636: "helmet, on top, in front, words are carved; the back and sides of the board are covered with colored velvet, grass silk worm-like, both green and yellow; the price is five rubles. Sent to the sovereign by tribute laba, in the year rm`d (1636). " this iron cap is mentioned in the inventory of 1687, sheet 467: "kalmyk iron cap, smooth from the bottom, a tube on top. Sent to the armory prikaz from the treasury yard. The price is twenty-five altyns; the ties are yellow silk. And according to the current census of the year (1687) and upon inspection, that cap matches the previous census books. The ears and the back of the head are made of buckskin, covered with colored velvet. On top of the cap, under the tube and on the shelf, are the words kolmyk. And according to the current estimate, one and a half rubles. " along with this helmet was sent from laba: "a kuyak with sleeves, it has five shields with buttons, on loops. The kuyak and shields are covered with poor colored velvet, herbs of different colors. Laba sent tribute to the tsar in the year rm`d (1636), the price is thirty rubles. ". Date: before 1853.
