Drevnosti RG v3 ill021 - Mongolian Shishak, before 1853

The so-called "mongolian" shishak the mongolian shishak with a mask in the inventory book of 1687, between the listed armor pieces, there are several hats with masks as an accessory to armor: "an iron hat with a mask, and the hat and mask are gilded, damaged; price eight rubles. An iron hat, plated3 with a mask, - gilded; price five rubles. " currently, three iron masks are kept in the armory. The chainmail shishak shown in the drawing (according to the inventory of the armory chamber, under no. 7) with a gold guide contains an arabic, not mongolian, inscription in a circle under the shishak. Date: before 1853.
