Antiquities of the russian country, 1846-1853. V. 1. Illustrator — solntsev, fyodor grigorievich mitra, or cap, presented by tsar alexei mikhailovich and tsarina maria ilyinichna to patriarch nikon in 1653. This precious utensil, like the previous one, is a sign of the special favor of tsar alexei mikhailovich to patriarch nikon, whom he called his friend. In its form it resembles ancient mitres more than other patriarchal mitres and crowns. Its base is altabas. Its crosspiece and crown consist of large pearls, between which are inserted burdocks of precious stones and on the front side of the cameo of azure yachont with the image of the resurrection of christ. Its top is overshadowed by an eight-pointed cross. Between the crosshairs are inserted four enamel stamps depicting the four evangelists. At their foot is the following enamel inscription: this hierarchal cap was made for the great lord, his holiness nikon, patriarch of moscow and all russia, emperor, prince of march, by order of the great prince and grand duke alexei mikhailovich of all russia and his blessed queen and great princess maria ilyinichna. Date: 1846—1853.
