Kabat and an iron baidana the armoury chamber keeps the chain mail depicted in the drawing called baidana with flat rings on which the words "god is with us, no one is against us" are engraved. The inventory book of 1687 mentions only one baidana: "an iron baidana, with words embossed on the ends (but not on the rings); three copper targets silver-plated. And according to the current census of the year and upon inspection, that baidana matches the previous census books; and upon inspection, two copper targets are half-finished, not silver-plated. Price one hundred rubles. " the inventory of 1701 (sheet 253) states: "an iron baidana, with words embossed on the ends; copper targets silver-plated. " in the inventory of 1746, instead of on the ends, it was corrected to: on the rings. According to the inventories of 1687 and 1701, there was also a semi-baidana in the armory: "a semi-baidana, with three silver-plated targets on it. " in the inventory of 1746, the semi-baidana is no longer there. The baidana and semi-baidana are also mentioned in the census book of boris fyodorovich godunov's belongings, 1589: "misyurskaya baidana with a split ring, with a target, without a necklace; the collar and sleeves and along the hem are fluffed in three rows with gilded copper" (sheet 168). Among the ringed armour, in front of chainmail and cuirasses: semi-baidanye. The dalmatian clothing, called by the latins talaris dalmatica, was actually a kabat, the usual name for a caftan among the western and southern slavs. In the inventory book of 150 (1642) of the clothing of tsar mikhail fedorovich, kabats are listed among the warm zipuns: “kabat of green damask, wedge-shaped on fox bellies, stripe on kizylbash work. Tailored in the year (1641). Two kabat sporks of satin; one satin green, and one satin tasseled. Both of these sporks were set aside and sold in the year (1644). According to the cutting books: 1638, october 13, tailored for the sovereign tsarevich prince alexei mikhailovich kabat of scarf-shaped lace; the length of the kabat is 1 arshin, 6 vershoks; shoulder width 1/2 arshin, sleeve length 3/4 arshin. Lined with sable lining, trimmed with light green fine grass damask, silver stripe with tassels, buttons strung with small pearls; made in the workshop chamber. " the kabat of tsar alexei mikhailovich depicted in the drawing is mentioned in the inventory of his dress: "kabat of scarlet color, sewn with drawn gold; lining with yellow taffeta. " judging by the surviving kabat, the cut of this clothing differed from an ordinary caftan by its buttoned slits on the sides, like a surplice and dalmatic. Kabats also came with necklaces: "kabat with a necklace, sewn with gold and silver with wire and stars on clove cloth, lined with scarlet velvet. ". Date: before 1853.
