The statue of amor vincitor is shown in the right center. A girl lies at its foot, a young man leans upon the pedestal. Groups of worshippers are at left. An old man guides a girl to the statue and a young couple approaches it, at right. A mountainous landscape with a temple precinct forms the background. Date: circa 1820. Dimensions: Mat: 71.2 x 91.6 cm (28 1/16 x 36 1/16 in.); ; 51.3 x 77.8 cm (20 3/16 x 30 5/8 in.). Medium: brush and brown wash, graphite on cream laid paper, pen and black ink.
