Drawing, Studies after Lunettes by, 1814, Felice Giani

Recto: a lunette with the deposition on top. In the middle, a lunette with the resurrection. At the bottom, a lunette with the virgin and child and saints. Verso: the upper part of the sheet shows a view of the piazza san domenico, bologna, with the tombs of rolandino de passageri and egidio foscherari. On the lower part of the sheet a tomb monument. A personification of fate sits on a sarcophagus in a niche. In the spandrels are objects symbolic of painting and architecture. Date: 1814. Dimensions: 37.2 x 25.2 cm (14 5/8 x 9 15/16 in.); ; Mat: 35.6 x 45.7 cm (14 x 18 in.). Medium: brown wash, graphite on white laid paper, pen and brown ink.
