The crowning of christ with thorns. In the center sits christ, his face lifted to heaven, his wrists shackled and the crown of thorns on his head. In the right foreground a boy blows a horn into christ's ear. Behind his left shoulder stands a soldier in armor who firmly presses the crown of thorns with a stick. Behind his right shoulder another executioner presses the crown of thorns further with a stick. In the left foreground a kneeling servant with his hand near his mouth and his tongue extended.
