Nb this is the birmingham version the death of chatterton is an oil painting on canvas by the english painter henry wallis, the prime version now in tate britain. This painting measures 622 x 933 mm,[1] but there are two smaller versions by wallis, one either a study or a replica in the birmingham museum and art gallery, which measures 173 × 252. 5 mm and, somewhat unusually for the period, is in oil on panel, and a replica at yale.
