Inscribed by the artist and (later?) signed with his monogram and dated ‘1838(?)’. The 1841 census records a ‘william lambert, farmer, aged 45, with a wife, jane, and 7 children, of scalegill foot, dentdale. The 1851 census records that he farmed 80 acres. 9x6. 5 inches. ".
