Above is a distant view with a beacon on the left, a church in the middle and a village (wieringe) on the right silhouetted against the sky. Below it the artist has drawn a slightly nearer view of what is probably also wieringen, but seen from a different direction. Between the two views is a sketch of a smallship under sail off the land.
