Plate numbered 5, claudius: in the foreground, a statue of claudius on horseback, in full armour, looking out over the harbour below him; the pedestal decorated with the scene of his poisoning by agrippina and with another cartouche depicting three soldiers, two kneeling, before an image of a female figure; behind, to right, a mock sea-battle is in progress on lake fucine, watched by the emperor from the imperial stand while spectators gather on all sides; to left, troops stand guard near a harbour engraving.
