A flute in a light air RMG PV5263, circa 1675

A flute in a light air a starboard bow view of a flute, probably a dutch merchant vessel, in a light breeze. Unusually, the sails (specifically the fore course, mizzen and fore and main topsails) are indicated by the blank paper against a lightly washed, darker sky, apparently without any drawing. A smaller, single-sail vessel attends the scene on the flute’s port bow a flute in a light air. Date: circa 1675. Dimensions: Secondary support: 171 mm x 205 mm; Primary support: 120 mm x 155 mm; Mount: 480 mm x 319 mm. Collection: Fine art.
