A boat and a kaag near the shore RMG PV5218, circa 1665

A boat and a kaag near the shore in the foreground is a boat pulling towards the shore – its imminent landing giving the drawing an extra vibrancy, as one figure prepares to leap from the bow and another stands in the water. Further off and to the left is a port quarter view of a kaag or similar vessel, being towed by a boat. Marked near the boat, in brown ink, is ‘k’ (for turn over), but there is nothing on the back. A boat and a kaag near the shore. Date: circa 1665. Dimensions: Primary support: 138 mm x 158 mm; Mount: 478 mm x 316 mm. Collection: Fine art.
