Grand duke ivan danilovich, nicknamed kalita. 1328-1340 grand duke ivan danilovich, the collector of the russian land, by his wise rule contributed to the unification of russian forces around one common state center - moscow, which he significantly enriched and made a metropolitan. He always carried a kalita (bag) with money with him, for distribution to the poor, and therefore was nicknamed "kalita". Fulfilling the desire of metropolitan peter, he built a stone church in moscow in the name of the dormition of the mother of god. Date: 1896.
