Grand duke alexander yaroslavich nevsky. 1252-1263 alexander yaroslavich, named nevsky for his victory over the swedes on the banks of the neva, a hero of the battle on the ice, died prematurely, having worked hard for the russian land, for novgorod and pskov, giving his life for the entire great principality and for the orthodox faith. On his deathbed he took the schema. He was canonized. Date: 1896.
