As part of its exhibition "posters on media history" from march 12 to august 31, 2013, the german museum of books and writing offered a press release in german and english as well as high-resolution, public domain posters for downloading on the occasion of the inauguration of the fourth extension to the german national library in leipzig. This work by the artist thomas theodor heine from 1896 advertises the illustrated weekly magazine "simplicissimus" published by albert langen's verlag in munich. The multi-color print - dubbed "the devil dances with high art" by the german national library - was produced by the university printing house dr. C. Wolf & sohn in munich. Date: 1896.
