Portrait of wolfgang amadeus mozart (1756-1791); johann georg edlinger painted the last portrait of the famous composer. Mozart was born in salzburg in 1756 and died in vienna at the age of 34. On the occasion of his 249th birthday in 2005, the painting was presented to the world as a mozart portrait; it had been in the possession of the gemäldegalerie of the staatliche museen berlin for 70 years before it was determined that it depicted mozart.
