Woodblock diptych print, oban tate-e. A scene from the kabuki play 'ichidai banashi' performed at the ichimura theatre in the seventh month of koka 4 (1847). The kabuki actor sawamura sojuro v (l) as kiyoshichi on his knees holding a cloth and nakayama bungoro (?) as the maid o-ura standing behind him, bando shuka (r) as o-kaji, the wife of danshichi, standing and holding a tobacco pipe with nakayama bungoro as the servant denpachi in a striped robe kneeling behind.
