Colour woodblock diptych print, oban tate-e. The kabuki actor bando shuka as o-kaji, wife of danshichi (left), leaning over a fallen man and pointing a sword at a bloodied seki sanjuro as the old hag, wife of giheiji of mikawa-cho (right), amidst heavy rain, from the play 'shinzo tsurifune kidan', performed at the ichimura theatre in the fifth month of kaei 5 (1852).
