Colour woodblock diptych print, oban tate-e. The kabuki actor ichikawa kodanji iv as haguri yoshimitsu (left) holding a man by one hand, and leaning across a chest towards onoe kikugoro iv in a female role (right) holding onto an anchor and holding out a small bag, sea creatures in the background; an underwater scene from the play 'kinu gyokutome kaku no irifune', performed at the nakamura theatre in the first month, kaei 5 (1852).
