Cavemen, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, before 1855

Cavemen, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, before 1855

See source: william michael rossetti suggested that the drawing was 'rather earlier than 1855' and identified the subject as 'gypsies'. The figures seem rather to be prehistoric cavemen, a curious theme for d. G. Rossetti, and one that does not apparently occur in any of his other early drawings or paintings. Date: before 1855. Dimensions: height: 6.4 cm (2.5 in); width: 11.2 cm (4.4 in). Medium: pen and black ink on paper. Dante Gabriel Rossetti - Cavemen
