Title page to a tract entitled "de hobbel in de wacht, op de haasejagt", no. 28 in the series entitled "esopus in europa"; in the centre, an etching showing "monsignorin" (probably louis xiv) discussing the progress of the war of spanish succession with two weeping women in quasi-medieval costume (perhaps intended to be nuns); he turns from the older to the younger. In the background, an eagle (the empire) carries off a hare (the duc de villeroi) who has failed to protect a group of cats under attack from foxes; two irish wolfhounds come to their aid. 1702
