This work is inspired by a passage from the life of cardinal francisco jiménez de cisneros (1436-1517), regent of spain and archbishop of toledo. The cardinal, who had been asked by some grandees with what powers he aspired to govern the kingdom, pointed with a gesture of his hand to some of the soldiers who usually served as his escort, to indicate that he based his power on them.
