On the first quarter in the golden field strewn with red hearts, three blue leopards one above the other with golden crowns, representing denmark. On the other quarter in the red field, a golden crowned lion holding a silver crooked hellebore in its claws, representing norway. On the third quarter in the blue field, three golden crowns, representing sweden; below that two blue lions with golden crowns, representing schleswig; on the fourth quarter in the golden field, a blue leopard and nine red hearts, representing the kingdom of the goths; below that a golden crowned lindworm, representing the kingdom of the wends. On the middle shield in the first red field is a nettle leaf divided into three thirds with a small shield, against which there are three silver nails between the three parts of the nettle leaf, for holstein. In the other red field is a silver swan with a golden wreath around its neck, for stormarn. Below is an armored golden rider with a bare sword on a silver horse in black cloth, for dithmarsen. The heart shield has two red crossbars on one side in the golden field, for oldenburg; on the other side in the blue field is a golden floating cross, for delmenhorst.
