Tab. Lxxxv. A) on heraldry. The roman imperial coat of arms. A black eagle, whose two heads are surrounded by a golden halo, because of the roman empire. The double neck is covered by the imperial crown, on which the royal crown rests. The right eagle's claw holds a sword, the left a sceptre. There are eight quarters in the large shield and a central shield. The first of the upper quarters contains 4 silver and 4 red stripes, because of hungary; the second on a blue field some golden lilies and a red tournament collar, because of naples; the third a golden crutch cross, surrounded by 4 red crosses, because of jerusalem; the fourth a golden field with four red stakes, because of aragon; in the first of the lower quarters are on a blue field with a red border some golden lilies, because of the younger house of anjou; in the second on a blue field a crowned golden lion, because of the duchy of guelders; in the third on a golden field a crowned black lion, for the duchy of jülich; in the fourth on a blue field two golden barbels curved outwards, on which at the bottom and top, and also on each side, are four golden crosses, for the duchy of baar. In the golden central shield is a red right diagonal bar with three silver mutilated eagles, for the duchy of lorraine; and on the other side are six balls, five red and one blue, for tuscany.
