An Indiaman on fire RMG PU6421, Henry Dawe, 1 June 1831

An indiaman on fire plate no. 67. This may have been inspired by the burning of the 'kent' indiaman, in the bay of biscay in 1825, though in that case two other ships were at hand to rescue those who escaped. Date: 1 June 1831. Collection: Fine art.
