An english ship in the wind with two others close-hauled to the right, a starboard broadside view of a small ship in the wind; her fore topsail aback and mizzen and main topsails filled. To the left, a lee bow view of a ship under courses, topsails and spritsail and main topgallant close-hauled on the port tack. Another ship in the left background also on the port tack. This is a pencil drawing by the younger, signed ‘w. V. Vj. ’ an english ship in the wind with two others close-hauled. Date: circa 1675. Dimensions: Sheet: 197 x 300 mm; Mount: 405 mm x 558 mm.
