On 13 germinal year iii, a crowd attempted to free bertrand barère, jacques-nicolas billaud-varenne and jean-marie collot d'herbois by storming the cab which was taking them to their deportation. The three former members of the committee of public safety were deported following a decree passed the day before by the national convention, during the insurrection day of 12 germinal year iii (april 1, 1795).
