A Portrait-, James Gillray, 1799

A half length portrait in an oval of the duke of cumberland in profile to the left, scarcely caricatured, but with a half-closed eye which gives an expression of arrogance. He wears a hat whose curving brim shades his eyes and rests on his high coat-collar. His chin is swathed in a stock, and an eye-glass hangs from a ribbon. 30 july 1799 hand-coloured etching.
