A group of seven people fishing with children three women are seated on baskets; two other women are standing, one on the left with a basket over the back of her head. They are accompanied by two men and several children, including a baby. The unsigned drawing’s stylistic resemblance to drawings of similar subjects from the milford collection, now at the nmm, suggest a tentative attribution to willem van de velde, the elder, and a date of about 1655.
