[Contrasted Oxonians.], Isaac Cruikshank, 1796

Plate 49 to 'eccentric excursions, or. Literary & pictorial sketches of countenance, character and country, in. . England & south wales'. One oxonian in cap and gown (left) staggers along, full-face, yawning violently. The other (right), in profile to the left, his gown looped over his arms, walks forward with a mincing gait as if dancing. They are 'a conceited fellow, and a drunken fellow, of different colleges'. 31 december 1796 hand-coloured etching. Date: 1796. Dimensions: Height: 181 mm; Width: 252 mm. Medium: paper. Collection: British Museum. (Contrasted Oxonians.) (BM 1927,0308.120)
