William iii and his wife mary stuart were crowned as king and queen of england during a session of the british house of lords on 11 april 1689. Romeyn de hooghe (1645-1708) documented this day in the beautiful print with 9 scenes of the coronation, from the fetching of the crown jewels from the tower of london to the bonfires on the river thames.
