Agila I, rey godo, Dióscoro Puebla, 1853

The canvas represents agila i (?-554), king of the visigoths, who reigned between 549 and 554. He succeeded king teudiselo and was in turn succeeded by king athanagild. King agila i is represented in profile, wearing armor, resting both hands on his sword and in a meditative attitude. In the background, a landscape with rocks on which, in the lower right corner, the shield rests. The canvas belongs to the collection of the prado museum, although it is deposited in the congress of deputies of spain. Object Type: painting. Date: 1853.
