The canvas represents agila i (?-554), king of the visigoths, who reigned between 549 and 554. He succeeded king teudiselo and was in turn succeeded by king athanagild. King agila i is represented in profile, wearing armor, resting both hands on his sword and in a meditative attitude. In the background, a landscape with rocks on which, in the lower right corner, the shield rests.
