In 1726, the northern part of the hoogermeer country estate was split off for david veryon to start a cotton printing house and was given the name "de katoenboom". Hoogermeer bordered the ringsloot at the rear and was located slightly above amstelzigt (page 189, groesbeek, amstelveen 8 centuries of history).
