Cantonment Stevens, Gustav Sohon, 1855

Cantonment stevens in the bitterroot valley of the washington territory in the united states in 1853-1854. Gustavus sohon, artist. Cantonment stevens was founded by lt. John mullan, a united states army explorer with the stevens railroad survey. It was named for isaac stevens, leader of the survey party and later governor of the territory of washington. Date: 1855.
